A long future for a long history

Rehabilitation of inspection shafts and large section sewers

Inspection shafts and sewers accessible on foot form the basic framework of municipal sewage systems and contribute greatly to problems in drainage networks, such as groundwater infiltration. At the same time, these core structures in the disposal of effluents present a real challenge with regard to rehabilitation where damage occurs, a challenge which demands a maximum degree of technical competence. We rehabilitate both concrete and brick structures using state-of-the-art process technology and materials in each case. We provide a complete range of individual services in this respect, ensuring that sewer systems with a long history once again have a long future ahead of them

Rehabilitation of brickwork shafts and large section sewers

  • Thorough cleaning of the structure surface
  • Removal of corroded pointing using high pressure jet blasting or milling processes
  • Sealing against pressure from groundwater using injection technology
  • Stabilising of the bed and filling of cavities using lance injection
  • Removal and replacement of loose or defective clinker bricks
  • Rehabilitation of connection fittings in shafts and large section sewers
  • Overhaul of pointing with effluent-proof grout
  • Reconstruction of beds and berms
  • Installation of half-shell channels
  • Rehabilitation of safety fittings in access shafts

Rehabilitation of concrete shafts and large section sewers

  • Thorough cleaning of the structure surface
  • Sandblasting of concrete to restore sound core
  • Pretreatment or removal of exposed concrete reinforcement
  • Profile restoration of structure using sewer mortar
  • Rehabilitation of connection fittings in shafts and large section sewers
  • Installation of new reinforcement
  • Installation of a sprayed concrete lining
  • Reconstruction of beds and berms
  • Installation of half-shell channels
  • Rehabilitation of safety fittings in access shafts

Special solutions for shafts and large sections

In addition to specific material rehabilitation techniques, we provide assembly and lining processes as permanent rehabilitation solutions:

  • Lining with ceramic tile elements
  • Lining with GRP elements
  • Surface coating of shafts with GRP laminate
  • Short pipe lining and tubular lining in large section sewers

Approved materials, qualified personnel

All materials employed by us in the rehabilitation of shafts and structures are suitable for sewage applications, environmentally friendly and possess a valid building inspection authorisation issued by the German Institute for Structural Engineering, Berlin (DIBT). These materials are installed by personnel with the necessary specialised qualifications and many years of technical experience.
